Touchcast Debuts MCity Metaverse Tool at CES 2022

0

Touchcast has announced the launch of the world’s first enterprise Metaverse platform, MCity, at a summit for the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022.

The new solution provides companies with a suite of immersive collaborative, learning, and communication experiences as well as provides .metaverse domains for official Metaverse enterprises.

Touchcast’s MCity solution aims to push for Metaverse-as-a-Service (MaaS) solutions, where organisations, companies, startups, and content creators can receive .metaverse domain names.

After receiving the new domains, users can build Metaverse campuses to host immersive content.

Touchcast MCity Features

The new tool will feature photorealistic 3D environments with Microsoft’s Azure Cloud Platform, NVIDIA GPUs, and Maxine software, allowing its Microsoft Teams users to join Metaverse spaces for shopping, hosting events and meetings, as well as collaborating in learning environments.

Firms can also migrate their workflows to the Metaverse for greater immersive hybrid work experiences without the need for virtual reality (VR) headsets or special programmes.

Epic’s Unreal Engine has powered the platform with one of the world’s top-ranking real-time 3D content creation platforms to build digitally-twinned campuses for organisations, firms, and groups.

From Friday, users can build their own campuses after receiving a .metaverse domain address on MCity, and the platform is set for rapid growth as an increasing number of users join its Marketplace.

MCity Planning

The news comes as Touchcast hosted the Metaverse Summit at the CES 2022, which boasted a roster of over 20 industry experts from Microsoft, Epic Games, Accenture, and NVIDIA, among others.

Touchcast broadcasted the summit via its digitally-twinned booth on the MCity platform, as well as with a massive hologram using the event’s physical stage, to debut the company’s inaugural Touchcast Metaverse Podium to global audiences.

Andrew Wilson, Chief Digital Officer for Microsoft, said in a statement,

“The metaverse will connect organizations, employees, partners, and customers in a new digital realm. It’s exciting to see this universe unfold and Touchcast’s MCity is a great example of the metaverse coming to life with Microsoft Teams as the first gateway”

Speaking further on Accenture’s collaborative role in facilitating enterprise transitions to the Metaverse, Marc Carrel-Billiard, Senior Managing Director and Technology Innovation Lead at Accenture, said distributed commerce had sparked customers and employees to seek flexible hybrid work and improved experiences.

He continued, stating,

“For many, the primary means of interacting with an organization will be digital. But for this interaction to be meaningful, it needs to go far beyond conference-calling and video chats. MCity provides this richer, deeper, persistent digital experience and Accenture will be helping its clients navigate their move to the metaverse”

Richard Kerris, Vice President of Omniverse Platform Development IGM of M&E at NVIDIA, added his enterprise was “thrilled” to see Touchcast and others employ NVIDIA technology to build the Metaverse and “evolve the future of work.”

He added,

“Today, MCity lets companies move to the metaverse by harnessing the power of cloud-based, high-end rendering on Microsoft Azure, powered by NVIDIA’s GPUs, while supporting Omniverse and open standards for an entire world of 3D assets”

Edo Segal, Founder and Chief Executive of Touchcast, echoed the comments, adding that his company had been “building the technologies” to migrate firms to the Metaverse “for the past decade” along with crucial events for top global firms on the MCity platform.

He concluded, stating,

“At a time when humanity is challenged to think differently about the future of work, we need new paradigms and new tools to imagine a better way of doing things […] Now it’s time to open it up to the rest of the world”
