Arhead Launches ‘Virtual’ Reality Show W3RLDS

0

Arhead, a virtual world-building platform for content creators to monetise creative content, recently announced it would launch the world’s first XR reality show, W3RLDS.

The show will unite 15 of the world’s top talent across the Web3 market, including visual artists, musicians, developers, and others, to build immersive Metaverse worlds via the company’s ecosystem.

Arhead will run the show for three months up to Metaverse Grand Finale Opening, which will debut each metaverse submission for audiences to experience.

Some of the contestants for the programme include,

  • Chiko Roko, a platform for developing character artworks for non-fungible token (NFT) toys
  • Scazy, a Metazorian-built avatar combining physical and digital (phygital) features
  • Enuriru, AR artist partnered with Meta Platforms and Snapchat
  • Laya Mathikshara, a digital artist aged 14 whose Origin digital art was released in space by US space and aeronautics firm SpaceX.

The new ecosystem built W3RLDS with an easy-to-use platform with immersive toolkits for content creators and developers, with greater levels of complexity and capabilities set for the near future.

Arhead W3RLDS will also boast an increasing list of challenges from its global community leading up to the grand finale while also hosting phygital spaces along with augmented reality and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for fans.

XR Entertainment Takes Centre Stage

The news comes as multiple extended reality firms tap immersive enterprises to boost engagement with audiences and Web3 developers, with famous brands, programmes, companies, and even governments tapping the potential of the Metaverse for their future campaigns.

Numerous musicians and artists have also joined the Metaverse, including Snoop Dogg, 22Gz, MUSE, Steve Aoki, Ariana Grande, Justin Beiber, and many others, to entertain audiences via headsets and in top-tier virtual world platforms such as Decentraland and The Sandbox.

The Royal Mail celebrated the Transformers animation series with a commemorative set of AR-powered apps featuring artwork from three British artists. Each stamp triggers an immersive experience, including clips from previous episodes, via a Royal Mail app to view the content.

The Walt Disney Company also opened a Web3 accelerator to facilitate innovation for technology firms, with six firms joining the programme to develop Metaverse, augmented reality (AR), non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and artificial intelligence (AI)-based experiences.
