Deadmau5’s PIXELYNX, Hadean Partner for Music Metaverses

0

Hadean, a British Web3 startup, has teamed up with PIXELYNX to scale up the world’s first music metaverse, ELYNXIR, it was announced earlier this week.

Co-founded by electronic music producers and technologists Joel Zimmerman (deadmau5) and Richie Hawtin (Plastikman), the pair developed ELYNIXIR to provide users with a platform to join virtual concerts, earn non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and attend bespoke virtual spaces designed by musicians.

The persistent, scalable platform allows artists to design music ecosystems for distributing and hosting music and immersive experiences, backed by Hadean’s distributed cloud systems. The platform’s services will create a hub for hosting games, shows, and NFTs in a persistent virtual experience.

Hadean will also provide connectivity and computing resources across the cloud and edge for optimal upscaling for the metaverse project, the companies explained.

Hadean was founded in 2015 as a venture-backed startup for building computing, Web3, and Metaverse solutions for enterprise and defence sector clients, including CAE, Microsoft, the Francis Crick Institute and Cervus, Minecraft, and others.

PIXELYNX, a London and Los Angeles-based firm, teamed up with music pioneers such as Graphite’s Ben Turner, Dean Wilson from Seven20 Entertainment and mau5trap, and Music Metaverse Futurist Inder Phull to develop new interfaces between fans and the music industry via immersive experiences.

Comments on ELYNXIR

Lars Koschin, Chief Gaming Officer at Hadean, lauded PIXELYNX’s vision for ELYNXIR as “another groundbreaking development” in how metaverse technologies will benefit numerous industries.

He continued, stating,

“Creating a new medium on which fans and artists can connect will open a huge amount of opportunity and experience for both alike. It’s brilliant to see Hadean’s technology once again playing such a key part in providing the power to support these massive and complex worlds”

Charles Tolman, PIXELYNX’s Chief Technology Officer, added that Hadean had “unmatched technology” and a proven track record of building “large-scale multiplayer experiences.”

He added,

“We plan to leverage this technology to provide a seamless experience of the Music Metaverse for fans all around the world, where they will be able to enjoy and share content from their favorite artists, engage with a global community of fellow music-lovers, and experience live events together in ways never before seen online”

The news comes as numerous key artists such as MUSE, Justin Bieber, Grimes, Foo Fighters, Dave Guetta, Steve Aoki, and many top artists have begun collaborating with extended reality (XR) platforms across the world to build the next generation of immersive music and concert experiences for fans.

Amid the rise of the Metaverse, global concertgoers now have access to volumetric video-backed, immersive concerts, limited-edition NFTs and wearables, and new socialising opportunities with others.
