Virbela, an immersive technology company designing enterprise and academia-grade virtual worlds, announced on Thursday the grand opening of a new campus to connect classmates and workmates in a community-driven online space.
The firm is also holding its first-ever community summit, Hands In 2022, which celebrates the new campus, customers, updates, and honours ten years of platform development.
The President and Co-Founder of Virbela, Alex Howland, said,
“The enterprise metaverse is here, and Virbela is helping address common workplace challenges remote and hybrid organizations are facing today”
New Features
As part of Virbela’s latest update, the platform has received a trove of new updates. The latest features assist in enhancing the platform for enterprise use cases, which include:
- A new campus site that aims to improve the user experience by enhancing the platform’s tailored flexibility for individuals and firms. It also introduces a grid system to increase accessibility when users design virtual collaboration spaces. Firms can also import a digital twin of their real-world offices for employees to work remotely.
- Users on the platform can accurately represent themselves with various new avatar options, including gender, body type, and mobility.
- Virbela is also adding Zoom integration to the platform, enabling teams to make video calls from virtual office spaces, either individually or as a group.
Howland added,
“In the next five to 10 years we envision millions of individuals and thousands of organizations operating in Virbela’s virtual worlds, and we’ve designed our platform from the ground up to grow with and help organizations improve the employee experience, operate more efficiently, and build strong community and culture”
The University of California, Tecnológico de Monterrey, along with Davenport University, employ Virbela campus sites to teach students remotely while maintaining performance and engagement with digital human interaction.
