Will AjnaLens Drive Indian XR Growth?

0

This week, Abhijit Patil, Co-Founder and COO of AjnaLens said that XR technology can “improve our society and help us achieve more.” The news comes as AjnaLens builds a competitive XR headset product portfolio that looks to drive local Indian competition in reaction to the meteoric rise of Meta and Apple-brand headsets.

The firm’s AjnaXR Pro and AjnaXR SE devices are a pair of new MR headsets AjnaLens designed for enterprise and commercial use cases. AjnaLens has made the AjnaXR Pro and AjnaXR SE devices available for pre-order – alongside its AjnaXR and AjnaVidya products, the firm debuted at CES 2023.

AnjaLens is debuting its latest device iterations to set itself up as a significant XR headset vendor.

To create a leading and competitive XR headset for the region, AjnaLens is securing industry-leading features for its device. For example, the AjnaXR Pro headset contains a pancake lens, dual 2.1-inch F-LCD displays, Qualcomm XR 2 + Gen 1 chipset, 6DOF inside-out tracking, and 256GB of storage.

On the other hand, the AjnaXR SE product also contains a pancake lens, dual 2.1-inch F-LCD displays, Qualcomm XR 2 + Gen 1 chipset, and 6DOF inside-out tracking. However, the device notably has differences in its weight and storage space.

Abhijit Patil also added:

Our AjnaXR SE and AjnaXR PRO devices are a step towards that future. They show our commitment to pushing boundaries in training, learning and human development and demonstrating India’s innovation on a global stage.

The AjnaXR Pro will cost Rs 1,15,499, and the AjnaXR SE will also cost Rs 84,999.

Building India’s Industrial Metaverse

AjnaLens is not just restricted to hardware, though. The firm is also developing a deep software stack to support the device, including industrial Metaverse considerations.

When the firm introduced AjnaXR at CES 2023, the firm also debuted AjnaVidya, an accompanying platform to promote immersive learning and communication opportunities.

Abhishek Tomar, the Co-founder & CTO of AjnaLens, added:

Started with the vision to revolutionize the learning and human development, we have come a long way. We aim to transform human lives by building a skill-first world with equal economic opportunities.

AjnaVidya is an “all-inclusive XR ecosystem” to nurture application and talent pool growth on the AjnaXR device.

AjnaVidya also enables its participants to upload custom immersive learning content onto the unified platform for others to access.

The service allows users to track performance stats with others using immersive training courses covering automotive, healthcare, mining, airport maintenance, mindfulness and metaverse content creation.

AjnaVidya allows VR/MR content developers to distribute applications without a fee on the XR ecosystem for other AjnaXR operators to enjoy – creating an inclusive and accessible XR developer space.

Abhijit Patil also said at the time the launch of “true mixed reality glasses and the world’s first complete immersive learning ecosystem” represents the role the region plays in the XR space and showcases “the talent we have in India.”

Patil also added:

With AjnaVidya and AjnaXR, we aim to provide an immersive learning experience with real-life tools to the trainee and help them get placed at a highly competitive pay scale globally.

A Global Industrial Metaverse

The news comes as firms such as Microsoft plan to debut an industrial Metaverse roadmap by 2024. The leading international computing firm combines XR, AI, and the Metaverse to create a unified hub of innovative emerging technologies that can significantly alter the workplace.

Lili Cheng, Corporate Vice President of Business Applications and Platforms at Microsoft, said that “mixed reality is the eyes and ears of AI,” with the firm delving into methods of enhancing “personalized, in-depth learning” for frontline workers.

Cheng also added that by integrating MR and AI, enterprise end-users can “accelerate worker training, shortening steps and supplying users with the working knowledge they need for the task at hand.”

In regards to the power of XR for enterprise, Cheng said:

Mixed reality facilitates knowledge retention and transfer across an organization through the creation of immersive experiences and simulations, regardless of location or device.

Moreover, Microsoft continues to support enterprise immersive digitization with a recent partnership with Magic Leap and Qualcomm to boost its MRTK3 platform, ready for its September debut.

NVIDIA is also preparing various enterprise clients with AI and XR developer opportunities on its Omniverse platform.

The firm is introducing OpenUSD, GenAI-ready workflows that enhance Omniverse developer tools, allowing enterprises to “build larger, more complex world-scale simulations as digital testing grounds for their industrial applications.”

According to the firm, industrial enterprises are “racing” to digitalize workflows with innovative technologies like XR and AI, increasing the demand for Omniverse integration of OpenUSD-enabled, connected, interoperable, 3D software ecosystems.

The Omniverse update also introduces a USD Composer that allows RT3D developers to design large-scale scenes using the OpenUSD framework – opening the Omniverse product to more industry use cases.
