On Wednesday, the Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality Association (VRARA) hosts over 100 speakers and exhibitors at the Immerse Global Summit (IGS) Europe event in Savoy Palace At Funchal, Madeira Island, Portugal, from 28 to 30 September.
The event features expert insight from extended reality (XR) thought leaders that will share their knowledge through a series of sessions, keynotes, and workshops.
IGS Europe marks The VRARA’s return to in-person European exhibitions that showcase emerging immersive technologies, including NFTs, cryptocurrencies, blockchain, cloud computing, gaming, AI, and volumetric capture.
Ori Inbar, the Co-Creator of AWE, said in a statement,
“We are very excited to be bringing back AWE Europe after a COVID-imposed hiatus – Europe is a major part of the worldwide XR ecosystem and we are very excited to be shining a spotlight on the activities of European companies, researchers and artists who all rely on XR as part of their day-to-day working and creative lives”
The event’s agenda provides insight into real-world enterprise XR use cases. Additionally, IGS Europe is using the platform to promote B2B, B2C, and European Union (EU) legislative coverage.
Major XR organisations are joining the Madeira Island-based event, including Google, HTC VIVE, Meta, Microsoft, Niantic, Lenovo, Unity, Accenture, T-Mobile, Magic Leap, and Qualcomm.

Attending In-Person and Virtually, Opportunities for All
The VRARA is also hosting its online virtual event alongside IGS Europe. The online sister portal – awe.live – hosts “thousands” of digital attendees alongside the more than 2,000 expected in-person attendees, according to Inbar.
He also added,
“We are looking forward to delivering an unparalleled experience for all our attendees, virtual and physical alike! AWE is very excited to be partnering with Travel Lisboa and Travel Portugal – as Lisbon specifically is investing heavily in the technology space, attracting companies and talent with substantial incentives”
The four-day event presents an in-person and online XR ecosystem for attendees. The VRARA is bringing together dispersed online audiences with a stream of webinars, live streams, and a series of local meetups in over 20 global cities.
IGS Europe also hosts online and in-person workshops hosted by the best-in-class industry experts and teachers. Additionally, attendees will receive access to an archive of video sessions and the Auggie Awards for XR innovation.
Tomorrow’s event is kicking off a busy weekend with many insightful sessions and announcements. Lenovo will also issue a big statement for its Think Reality enterprise Metaverse solution for remote collaboration and communication.
